China and India are working in direction of hotter relations between the 2 states

Chinese Foreign Ministry reported by the Global Times:

China and India have agreed to

• resume direct flights between the Chinese mainland and India,
• support coordination between competent departments of the two countries to advance this goal,
• and take measures to facilitate personnel exchanges and mutual postings of journalists

Tensions between the two are particularly high in border regions.

From a few years ago:

• flare-up on the India – China border resulting in at least 20 deaths
