College hoops analyst gushes over Alabama star Karly Weathers’ mindset after SEC Tournament second spherical win

Karly Weathers’ No. 11-seed Alabama upset sixth-seed Tennessee 76-64 in the second round of the SEC Tournament on Thursday. It was the Tide’s 23rd win of the season as they progressed to the quarterfinals of the conference tournament.

After the game, Weathers flaunted her maturity while discussing the win over the Volunteers on the SEC Network with Mike Neighbors.

“A game is won by things that are not even on the stat sheet,” Weathers said. “I’m not here to score the most points, I’m here to see my team win.”

When Weathers told Neighbors that she was still only 22, the analyst praised her understanding of the game for her age.

“You’re not supposed to know that,” Neighbors said. “They’re not supposed to understand that, but she does. That’s book smart, that’s life smart. That answer right there, it needs to be retweeted by everybody, to hear that, ‘Be a team player.'”

Weathers posted four points, four rebounds and seven assists against Tennessee. She also stole six balls to aid in Alabama’s defense.
