Ted Carter Jr. stepped down from his role as Ohio State University President on Monday. In a statement, Carter said he resigned after disclosing an “inappropriate relationship” to the board of trustees.
When fans caught wind of Carter’s resignation, they slammed OSU.
“Shameful! Especially at Wexner University!” one tweeted.
“Michigan & Ohio State playing ‘The Game’ in every way possible rn,” another added.
“Would never happen at Michigan,” a third commented.

Carter said that his inappropriate relationship was with an individual who was seeking public resources to aid her personal business.

Ted Carter Jr. began his role as President of the Ohio State University in January 2024. He oversaw the Buckeyes’ College Football Playoff national championship success in 2025.
Reports claim that the OSU board had unanimously voted to increase Carter’s raise by almost $40,000 in 2025, which took his annual earnings to nearly $1.3 million.
OSU has not yet named a replacement for Carter.
