Cristiano Ronaldo has equalled a long-standing record held by former Arsenal striker Ronnie Rooke. The Portuguese superstar scored a brace in Al-Nassr’s 3-0 win against Al Akhdoud on Saturday, December 27.
Jorge Jesus’ side went four points clear at the top of the Saudi Pro League table ahead of rivals Al-Hilal. The 41-year-old found the back of the net in the 31st minute and third minute of the first half stoppage time before Joao Felix scored in the 94th minute.
Thanks for the submission!
With his brace, Cristiano Ronaldo went level with Rooke for the most goals scored after turning 30, as per The Mirror. Since celebrating his 30th birthday, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner has scored 493 goals, the same as Rooke for Arsenal, Fulham and Crystal Palace.
Ronnie Rooke is best remembered for his time at Fulham as he continued to play during World War II while working for RAF as a physical training instructor. He scored 212 goals in 199 games during the war alone which convinced Arsenal to pay Fulham £1,000 plus two players, Cyril Grant and Dave Nelson, for his signature.
Rooke’s record has stood for an incredible 64 years but it has finally been matched by Cristiano Ronaldo. Ronaldo now boasts 956 goals across his illustrious career and looks highly likely to touch the 1000-goal mark.

Kroos and Ronaldo made 171 appearances together for Real Madrid and had 16 joint goal participations. They won three back-to-back Champions Leagues for Los Blancos alongwith several other major trophies.
Ronaldo left Real Madrid in 2018 and went on to play for Juventus and Manchester United and now plays for Al-Nassr. Kroos, on the other hand, stayed at Real Madrid and took everyone by surprise by retiring in 2024.
