CSK pacer to exchange injured Prasidh Krishna for IND vs WI 2026 third ODI: Reports

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) pacer Anshul Kamboj has been named Prasidh Krishna’s replacement in the Indian squad for the third ODI against the West Indies on October 3 (via ESPN Cricinfo reports). Prasidh played the first two ODIs, which India won in convincing run chases to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the best-of-three series.

However, the speedster bowled only five overs in the second ODI in Guwahati and walked off the field in the 31st over of the West Indian batting innings. The 30-year-old has sustained a hamstring injury and is already back in Bengaluru.

Prasidh struggled in his five overs before the injury, conceding 45 runs and taking a solitary wicket. However, he was among the few bowlers to impress in the series opener on a placid Thiruvananthapuram pitch with figures of 2/60 in 10 overs.

Meanwhile, Kamboj has been withdrawn from the ongoing second red-ball game between India A and Australia A in Puducherry. The 25-year-old was brilliant in the first innings, finishing with figures of 3/34 in 17.3 overs.

Kamboj bowled only two overs in Australia A’s second innings as they declared on 173/4, setting India A a target of 365.

SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) pacer Praful Hinge will replace Kamboj for the remainder of the India A-Australia A contest.

Cut to the India-West Indies series, the Men in Blue will look to complete a 3-0 series whitewash in the final game in New Chandigarh.

Anshul Kamboj has played a solitary game for India

Anshul Kamboj is no stranger to the Indian colors, having debuted in the Test series in England last year. However, the right-arm pacer had a forgettable debut, conceding 89 runs and taking only a wicket in 18 overs in the drawn fourth Test in Manchester.

The seamer has been in excellent recent form, picking up three wickets in the first India A-Australia A Test, which India A won by 162 runs. Kamboj also impressed in the 2026 Duleep Trophy before the ongoing Australia A series, taking five wickets in two matches for North Zone despite their semifinal exit.

Kamboj has played only one match for India (Manchester Test last year).
