Current WWE Champion needs to maintain the Title for 1,000 days

A current WWE Champion wants to hold her Title for 1,000 days. Lengthy title reigns have become more common under the current regime, and many wrestlers have held their championship for a good amount of time.

Roman Reigns had a 1,316-day run as the top Champion, and Cody Rhodes’s first WWE Championship reign lasted over a year. Now, current Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan is hoping to keep the belt for a long amount of time.

Morgan recently completed 100 days as Champion, having won the strap at WrestleMania 42 after defeating Stephanie Vaquer. She is now gearing up to defend the Championship against Queen of the Ring winner IYO SKY at SummerSlam.

Ahead of her Title defense, she spoke to ESPN SportsCenter and talked about her winning record at the Biggest Party of the Summer. She said she intends to retain the Title and reach 1,000 days as Champion.

“I’d love to keep my streak going. Like you said, I am 2-0 at SummerSlam. I have a great track record, so I’d love to keep that going. But most importantly, I want to retain my Women’s World Championship. I am over 100 days as champion, and I want to make it a 1,000 days as champion,” she said.

The Judgment Day member then acknowledged IYO SKY as one of the best wrestlers in the world and said that the match will be an opportunity to show what she can do in the ring.

“So, retaining this weekend and defeating IYO SKY, one of the best in the world. Reminding everyone just exactly who I am in that ring. I’m very much looking forward to that opportunity,” she added.

Liv Morgan compared to Brock Lesnar ahead of WWE SummerSlam

Liv Morgan may be eyeing a 1,000-day reign as Champion, but her Title reign so far has faced criticism. Surprisingly, she is yet to defend her Title in over 100 days ahead of her match against IYO SKY.

On social media, Morgan’s run as the Women’s World Champion was compared to Brock Lesnar’s WWE World Heavyweight Championship reign in 2014.

The Beast went an astonishing 127 days without putting his Title on the line before finally defending it at Royal Rumble 2015.
