According to a report from Nick Harris of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, the Dallas Cowboys will debut a new uniform combination during their Christmas Day matchup with the Washington Commanders (1 p.m. ET on Netflix).
The Cowboys will wear their white alternate helmets, which were reintroduced as part of their 1960s throwback uniforms and “Arctic Cowboy” Color Rush set in 2022, with their navy blue “road” jerseys and white pants.
The Cowboys actually switch decals between the two helmets, using a vintage star and gray facemask with their throwback design but their current logo and white facemask with their Color Rush set, which will be used on Thursday.
Dallas has worn its standard silver helmets with navy blue jerseys and white pants, which were introduced with the Color Rush set in 2015, at least once almost every season since 2018, except for the 2020 campaign.
But with the NFL relaxing its rules this offseason to allow teams to mix-and-match alternate and primary uniform elements, the Cowboys are now able to wear white helmets, blue jerseys and white pants for the first time since 1963.
That, of course, doesn’t include the throwback uniforms that were worn from 2004-12 and every Thanksgiving since 2022. Those uniforms feature navy blue jerseys with oversized stars on the white shoulder yoke, solid numbers and two navy blue stripes on the pants.
Dallas’ standard navy blue jerseys, meanwhile, feature stripes on the collar, stripes and a star on the sleeves and double-outlined numbers, while the white pants include two navy blue stripes with a silver stripe in the middle.
