Dallas Mavericks’ 2025-26 City Edition, Hardwood Classic Shorts Leak – SportsLogos.Net News

The Dallas Mavericks became the latest team to have their 2025-26 City Edition and Hardwood Classic shorts leak this week, as the franchise is set to bring back two familiar designs for its 45th anniversary.

The black City Edition shorts, which were posted to Instagram by user @__2hands_shop__, prominently displays the Mavericks’ primary logo on the waistband, which is notable considering all but one of their City Edition uniforms featured a star, city skyline or state outline in that spot.

With a report suggesting that most (if not all) City Edition uniforms will be a recolour of a previous design, we can deduce that the Mavericks will soon reveal a black, blue and silver version of their white, silver and gold 2020-21 City Edition uniforms.

Those uniforms were not only a nod to their 2010-11 NBA Championship, but also one of the most iconic symbols in Dallas, the Pegasus, with a wing-like design down the sides. There was also a “4” next to the primary logo on the shorts, combining to note their 40th anniversary.

The Mavericks also wore green Hardwood Classic uniforms in select games that season, and they’ll return again this year, as the league permits teams to wear Hardwood Classic designs in an anniversary year.

The uniforms, which were originally worn on the road from 1981-91, includes a stylized “Dallas” wordmark across the chest and a matching number font, as well as traditional blue and white trim and the Mavericks’ 1980-2001 logo on the left leg of the shorts.

Dallas also wore similar Hardwood Classic uniforms in 2005-06 and 2015-17, though they included a block number font reminiscent of what the franchise wore on the road from 1991-92. There’s also the Nike Futura logo, which was a standard Nike Swoosh in 2020-21.

The Mavericks now join the Memphis Grizzlies and Philadelphia 76ers in having their Hardwood Classic shorts leaked this week, while the Instagram user also posted a mockup of Hardwood Classic designs for the Cleveland Cavaliers and Minnesota Timberwolves.

If those designs come to fruition, the Cavaliers would be throwing back to their 2005-10 alternate uniforms and the Timberwolves to their 1997-2008 alternate uniforms. The Grizzlies’ design replicates their 2001-02 design, while the 76ers’ are a nod to the Allen Iverson era (1997-2007).
