Chennai Super Kings defeated the Delhi Capitals by eight wickets to earn two crucial points in IPL 2026. Sanju Samson starred in CSK’s victory, scoring 87 runs off just 52 deliveries to help the Yellow Army chase down a 156-run target inside 18 overs.

Delhi Capitals skipper Axar Patel won the toss and chose to bat first at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. The decision backfired though as DC collapsed to 69/5 in 11 overs. Tristan Stubbs and Sameer Rizvi somehow helped DC cross the 150-run mark.

Akeal Hosein put DC under pressure with a tight spell of 1/19 in four overs. Noor Ahmad was the pick of the bowlers for CSK with figures of 2/22 in three overs.

Sanju Samson stole the show with a magnificent 52-ball 87 at the top of the order for the Chennai Super Kings. Ruturaj Gaikwad struggled for his 13-ball six, but Urvil Patel’s quickfire 17 and Kartik Sharma’s unbeaten 43 made sure that CSK won the match with 15 balls to spare.
