DC vs KKR Match Prediction: Who will win in the present day’s IPL 2026 match?

The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) come into this Indian Premier League (IPL) with an unprecedented wave of momentum. With three wins on the trot, KKR will look to further their playoff push when they face off against the Delhi Capitals (DC) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Friday, May 8.

The Knight Riders started the campaign in miserable fashion but have bounced back to an extent, thanks largely due to Rinku Singh and their world-class spin attack. KKR will hope that they can utilize DC’s poor form to notch up another win on the trot.

The Capitals, on the other hand, are heading in the opposite direction. Having lost four of their last five matches, Axar Patel and company have no immediate solution to their problems. They seem to be terribly confused regarding their ideal combination, and their on-field tactics have been among the worst in the league.

DC’s squad for IPL 2026: Axar Patel (c), Sahil Parakh, Mitchell Starc, Vipraj Nigam, Auqib Nabi, Tristan Stubbs, Karun Nair, Lungi Ngidi, Sameer Rizvi, Ben Duckett, Ajay Mandal, Madhav Tiwari, Kyle Jamieson, Nitish Rana, Pathum Nissanka, Mukesh Kumar, Ashutosh Sharma, Prithvi Shaw, Tripurana Vijay, David Miller, T Natarajan, Kuldeep Yadav, KL Rahul (wk), Dushmantha Chameera, Abishek Porel (wk).

KKR’s squad for IPL 2026: Ajinkya Rahane (c), Manish Pandey, Sunil Narine, Rovman Powell, Cameron Green, Rachin Ravindra, Rinku Singh, Rahul Tripathi, Ramandeep Singh, Angkrish Raghuvanshi (wk), Anukul Roy, Tim Seifert (wk), Finn Allen (wk), Navdeep Saini, Umran Malik, Vaibhav Arora, Varun Chakaravarthy, Prashant Solanki, Kartik Tyagi, Matheesha Pathirana, Blessing Muzarabani, Sarthak Ranjan, Daksh Kamra, Tejasvi Singh (wk), Saurabh Dubey.

DC’s strength over the years has been their spin pairing of Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav. KKR’s weakness is their battting against spin, but with Kuldeep out of form, the visitors may be better off than previous years. The surface in Delhi has been unpredictable and hasn’t always offered grip and turn in recent times.

Moreover, Kolkata’s spin duo of Varun Chakaravarthy and Sunil Narine have found their best form. Varun’s return to form and Narine’s inimitable consistency have led to eight solid overs that oppositions haven’t been able to overcome.

KKR have concerns in the batting unit, but DC aren’t much better off. Anything can happen in cricket, but the Knight Riders are the clear favorites for this contest. The Capitals’ only hope of winning would be to win the toss and hope that a chase pans out in the right way.

Prediction: KKR to win Match 51 of IPL 2026.
