Popular AEW star Dezmond Xavier (FKA Wes Lee) has just shared unfortunate news on social media. In a rare personal update, he revealed that his grandmother recently passed away.
Xavier is one-third of The Rascalz, who have been signed to the Jacksonville-based promotion since January. Despite not winning championship gold just yet, they have been on an impressive run, showing their prowess as competitors whether in singles, tag team, or trios action.
Dezmond Xavier took to X/Twitter and revealed that following the passing of his grandmother, Tony Khan sent his family flowers and a card with a heartfelt message from him. Xavier mentioned how he was not one who often shared about his personal life, but he had to thank Khan for the great gesture.
“I don’t post much about my personal life but certain things get exceptions…Thank you @TonyKhan for being so dope, ” Xavier posted.
The rest of The Rascalz were heavily featured on AEW Collision tonight
Members of The Rascalz were featured in two blockbuster matches tonight during the AEW Collision show in Charleston, West Virginia. It started with Myron Reed answering the open challenge for Darby Allin’s TNT Championship. Despite a valiant effort, Reed ended up falling short. Darby was impressed with his opponent’s performance and had to give him his flowers post-match.
Zachary Wentz, on the other hand, is set to take on Jon Moxley in an AEW Continental Championship Eliminator match. This will be the main event of tonight’s show. Dezmond Xavier’s post explains why only two members of The Rascalz were out during tonight’s show.
The trio has become one of the most enjoyable acts on the roster, as they bring great energy for all their appearances. Despite being a member short tonight, both Reed and Wentz look great during their matches regardless of their losses. Xavier may be taking some time off, but he’ll surely bounce back when he’s back.
