DEVELOPING: Ballot Scanners in Westchester County New York Malfunction – Ballots Being Placed in Orange Bags?

No later than the polls opened in Westchester County, New York, at 7 am this morning, the machines started malfunctioning in what the Board of Elections has reportedly called a countywide problem.

Now, instead of scanning their votes, people are being told to place their ballots in ballot bags, which will later be sent to the Board of Elections to be counted.

Per News 12:

The Westchester County Board of Elections says an issue with the thickness of paper ballots is preventing voting machines from accepting them at polling locations throughout the county. Officials urge voters to stay in line and complete their ballots as instructed, saying ballots will be secured in monitored orange emergency ballot bags and counted according to election procedures.

The board is instructing poll workers to check voters in and provide them with ballots. The ballots are being placed in orange bags while technicians work to resolve the problems.

The bags will be sent to the Board of Elections at the end of the night. Those ballots will be counted first, before ballots cast through the machines.

Republican Congressman Mike Lawler, who represents part of the county, wrote on X this morning, “There is a problem with every ballot scanner in Westchester County. We do not yet know the exact cause of the issue, whether it is the ballot or the machine. The Board of Elections is working with their vendors to resolve it.”

“However, every ballot will be counted. Stay on line and vote. Do not leave the polling place without voting,” he added.

The RNC’s election integrity unit said they are “on the ground and in contact with local election officials,” urging voters not to be deterred by the so-called error.

“We have extra observers deployed to ensure voters can still cast their votes by paper ballot,” they wrote. Voters can report concerns at protectthevote.com.

Corrupt far-left New York Attorney General Letitia James is also on the case, assuring voters that they “can still safely fill out and turn in their ballots at their polling locations.”

“Your votes will count,” she said.

This is a developing story.
