There are reports of at least one deputy shot in Pittsylvania County, Virginia, on Wednesday evening.
Multiple law enforcement agencies, including state, local and federal, are responding to an active scene at the intersection of Pittsville Road and Homestead Road.
Several helicopters were dispatched to the scene.
Details about the shooting are not known.

First responders from several agencies are at the scene of, or responding to, an incident in Pittsylvania County’s Gretna Wednesday evening.
No information has been released and no agencies are yet talking, but a WDBJ7 reporter says there is a “very heavy scene at the intersection of Pittsville Road and Homestead Road in Pittsylvania County.”
The Pittsylvania County Sheriff’s Office, Campbell County Sheriff’s Office, Amherst County Sheriff, Danville Police Department, Virginia State Troopers, Gretna Fire and Rescue, Hurt Fire Department, U.S. Marshalls, and a Centra Helicopter are there, with more agencies arriving.
