DEVELOPING: Mike Johnson Likely to be Elected Speaker on First Ballot | The Gateway Pundit

Mike Johnson is expected to be elected House Speaker on the first ballot.

The House will vote for the Speaker for the 119th Congress at noon on Friday as required by the Constitution.

On Thursday, with just 24 hours to go until the Speaker vote, Mike Johnson was still working to convince the ‘undecideds’ to support him.

President Trump earlier this week endorsed Mike Johnson for Speaker.

“The American people need IMMEDIATE relief from all of the destructive policies of the last Administration. Speaker Mike Johnson is a good, hard working, religious man. He will do the right thing, and we will continue to WIN. Mike has my Complete & Total Endorsement. MAGA!!!” Trump said in a Truth Social post on Monday ahead of the Speaker vote.

Johnson is going into Friday’s vote with a handful of ‘undecideds. ‘ However, high-ranking Republicans, such as Majority Whip Emmer, say Johnson has the votes and will be elected Speaker on the first ballot.

Emmer said Johnson will get it on the first ballot.

A few names to watch: Biggs, Boebert, Burlison, Burchett, Cloud, Clyde, Crane, Harris

Former Congressman Matt Gaetz said Johnson will be elected Speaker today.
