After over two years out of the octagon, Donald Cerrone put himself on the comeback trail by re-entering the UFC’s anti-doping program.
Cerrone has not fought since July 2, 2022, when he lost to Jim Miller via submission. It was his sixth setback in seven bouts, with the other result being a no contest.
But now the 41-year-old is hoping to be back in action this upcoming summer.
“I just re-entered the testing pool,” Cerrone said during an episode of “The Pacman Jones Show” that came out on Friday. “I have to be six months clean. Probably June, July we will make the comeback. Coming back for two more (fights). Just two more. … I promised the wife no matter what happens, no matter the outcomes — two more and that’s it.”
The UFC hasn’t spoken out against a potential return for Cerrone, who has been open about his use of performance-enhancing drugs during his post-fighting days.
Cerrone competed at lightweight and welterweight in the past.
