AEW star Hook sent a major warning to a top star tonight. The Cold-Hearted Handsome Devil has been a major part of the Opps for the past year. He, Samoa Joe and Katsuyori Shibata have proved time and time again why they are one of the most violent groups in the AEW locker room. The faction recently added a new member, Anthony Bowens. The latter has been a long-time friend of the former FTW Champion and therefore requested him to let him into the stable.
After approaching Hook many times, Samoa Joe finally accepted Anthony in the Opps. Since joining the group, the Samoan Submission Machine has shown trust in him. Currently, the former AEW World Champion has taken off to complete his filming projects and is absent from the Jacksonville-based promotion. Things look unstable as Samoa Joe is no longer leading them.
Tonight on Summer Blockbuster Collision, Anthony Bowens asked for fans’ respect and applause. However, Hook told him not to act like the group’s leader, as he is still a newbie. The former FTW Champion claimed that all the Opps care about is violence.
“Yo, enough of that. We don’t care about applause. We care about destroying anything in our path. Don’t act like you are a leader around here. Me and Shibata have been with the Opps since day one. You are the new guy. Know your place (…) This isn’t about being boys. This isn’t about being friends. This is about violence. This is the Opps, a group of k**lers. You understand that?” he said.
It seems like the Cold-Hearted Handsome Devil isn’t thrilled with Anthony Bowens’ attitude. It will be interesting to see if things fall apart between the Opps before Samoa Joe’s return.
