Borussia Dortmund have reportedly inserted a sell-on clause of 35% as Barcelona agree a deal to sign winger Karim Adeyemi. The 24-year-old has been with BvB since arriving from Salzburg in the summer of 2023.
Adeyemi is coming off a decent 2025-26 campaign, scoring 10 times and assisting six in 39 games across competitions. That includes seven strikes and four assists in 28 matches in the Bundesliga, where BvB finished second, 16 points behind champions Bayern Munich.
Thanks for the submission!
His other goal contributions came in the UEFA Champions League, where Niko Kovac’s side lost 4-3 to Atalanta in the knockout play-offs, with Adeyemi scoring in the 4-1 second-leg defeat in Italy.
Despite being contracted to Signal Iduna Park till 2027, BvB have let Adeyemi join Barca, as per Sky Sports reporter Patrick Berger (via media personality Reshad Rahman). However, the deal contains a massive 35% sell-on clause.
Rahman has tweeted that Adeyemi will have a net pay of €6 million per year, with the two clubs agreeing a five-year deal of €20 million (fixed) and another €7 million in bonuses.
Adeyemi wasn’t a part of Germany’s 2026 FIFA World Cup squad, where Julian Nagelsmann’s side lost on penalties to Paraguay in the Round of 32.
How many Barcelona players are still at the 2026 FIFA World Cup?

Barcelona have had 16 players at the ongoing 2026 FIFA World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico. Among them, Spain have the largest contingent of eight players, including teenage attacker Lamine Yamal.
All of them are still at the quadrennial event, with Luis de la Fuente’s La Roja in action right now against 2018 semi-finalists Belgium in the second quarter-final at Los Angeles Stadium, Inglewood, with the game being 1-1 at the break.
Apart from the Spanish group, only one other Barcelona player is still active in the tournament – defender Jules Kounde – whose France team have reached the semi-finals by beating African champions Morocco 2-0 in the first last-eight match on Thursday (July 9) at Boston Stadium, Foxborough.
