Elon Musk has responded to singer Billie Eilish’s recent comments in which she criticized the billionaire’s handling of his wealth. She used expletives in her post, calling out Musk for not using it for welfare.
On November 17, Elon Musk took to X, a platform owned by him, to respond to Eilish’s comments. He replied to a post by the account “Billie Eilish Tours”, which included screenshots of the singer’s latest comments, and wrote:
“She’s not the sharpest tool in the shed.”
Musk’s comments pertained to Eilish’s Instagram story dated November 13, where she shared a post by My Voice My Choice. The post included multiple welfare-centric things the billionaire could do by using his wealth after becoming a trillionaire, including rebuilding Gaza, ending world hunger, providing universal clear water, finding cure to diseases, and saving endangered species. Alongside, Eilish wrote:
“F***ing pathetic p***y b**** coward.”
According to Forbes, Elon Musk is the richest man on earth, with a net worth of a reported $470.5 billion. He is the CEO of Tesla, SpaceX, and the artificial intelligence startup, xAI. In 2022, Musk also bought X, formerly called Twitter, further adding to his billions worth empire.
Billie Eilish urges billionaires to redistribute their wealth for public welfare


On October 29, 2025, Billie Eilish received the Music Innovator Award at the WSJ Magazine Innovator Awards. After receiving her honor for her contribution to music, Eilish took the opportunity to send a message to billionaires, urging them to give away their wealth for public welfare. She said:
“We’re in a time right now where the world is really, really bad and really dark and people need empathy and help more than, kind of, ever, especially in our country. I’d say if you have money, it would be great to use it for good things, maybe give it to some people that need it.”
Billie Eilish also addressed billionaires in specific, adding:
“Love you all, but there’s a few people in here that have a lot more money than me. If you’re a billionaire, why are you a billionaire? No hate, but yeah, give your money away, shorties.”
The audience at the Museum of Modern Art that night including multiple rich people, including the founder of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg. According to Forbes, Zuckerberg has a net worth of $206.6 billion, being the sixth richest man on earth. Other wealthy people in the crowd included Karlie Kloss, Hailey Bieber, George Lucas, Spike Lee, Chris Rock, and Ben Stiller.
Following Billie Eilish’s honor, it was also announced that the singer was donating $11.5 million from her earnings of the Hit Me Hard and Soft tour. Speaking about Eilish’s contributions, Stephen Colbert, while introducing her during the show, said:
“I also have the privilege of breaking a little news tonight. Thank you, Billie, for allowing me to do this. It’s extraordinary. Billie Eilish will be donating proceeds from her Hit Me Hard and Soft Tour to support organizations, projects and voices dedicated to food equity, climate justice, reducing carbon pollution and combating the climate crisis. That donation, ladies and gentlemen, will be $11.5 million. That’s wonderful. Billie, on behalf of humans everywhere, thank you.”
The funds will be used to address causes such as climate change, carbon pollution, and food equity. Proceeds from her tour will also add to Changemaker Program and Reverb, which is an environmental nonprofit organization working to decrease emissions from live music through the Music Decarbonization Project.
