Epic Games guarantees extra Quality-of-life updates for Fortnite

It’s not a secret that Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 1: Pacific Break has its fair share of issues. Despite Epic Games’ best efforts to curb them, they continue to appear. Given the scope of the game and how it has evolved over the years to become what it is, these things are expected.

However, it does mar the overall experience for many users, which is why Ted Timmins (Design Director) took to social media X to address these problems.

Aside from reassuring the community that new content is on its way next month, the update v39.40 is slated to go live on February 5, 2026. He also provided insight into how Epic Games plans on tackling these constant problems that players seem to encounter very often.

“I am confident that you will see an improvement in the months and seasons ahead.” – Fortnite to become more stable in the near future

As mentioned by Ted Timmins, the goal is to set up a team that will prioritize feedback from players and implement it to ensure a more stable gaming experience. They will be permanent and will work in tandem with other core teams. This is what he had to say:

“We have already taken steps to setup a multi-discipline live-ops strike team that are meeting daily, prioritising feedback, and taking actions to improve player experience and new Quality of life Updates. This new team is going to be a permanent addition to the development teams setup.”

Once the team has settled in and has begun dissecting issues one by one, QOLs will be rolled out when ready. That said, Ted Timmins does mention that the team will not be able to “catch everything,” but is confident that players will be able to see improvement. Here is what he had to say:

“I’m excited to see the results. It’s not to say they will catch everything so I don’t want to set false expectations, but I am confident that you will see an improvement in the months and seasons ahead.”

That being said, while the new team may not be able to catch every single bug, they will be able to squash many. Aside from the fixes, Ted Timmins also mentions that Self-Revives and Shockwave Grenades will be unvaulted soon. It should add a bit of flavor to combat. Use them to spread chaos and mayhem on the battlefield.
