Since arriving in WWE, Nick Aldis has served as the SmackDown General Manager. While the star was wrestling outside and even held the NWA Championship for a long time, once he came to the company, he stopped wrestling altogether. Over the last few months, the star has been at odds with Gunther, with the former World Heavyweight Champion accusing him of sabotaging his title opportunities, but now things have come to a head.
After the two got physical with one another, there was nothing for it, but for the two stars to face each other in a match at SummerSlam, meaning that Aldis was stepping back into the ring for the first time since 2023. This author spoke with sources within WWE and can confirm there’s a lot of excitement about his return to the ring. There’s a lot of happiness surrounding his chance.

He is well loved backstage, and everyone is happy that he is finally getting to enter the ring after what has been a long time on the sidelines. Now, he’s going to finally get a chance to do what it takes to be the one out there wrestling, after weeks and months and years now of him guiding others who wanted advice, and making sure that they looked strong when out there.”
While the chances of his winning against Gunther are slim, Aldis is more than capable of holding his own.
