Former India captain Virat Kohli recently posed for a picture with a fan at a restaurant in London ahead of the upcoming T20 World Cup 2026. The showpiece event will be the Men in Blue’s first big ICC event without senior players Kohli and Rohit Sharma.
The 37-year-old is enjoying a break from cricket after partaking in India’s three-match home ODI series against New Zealand. He paid a visit to the vegan restaurant Mallow Borough Market dressed in a brown sweater and beige trousers.
One of Kohli’s fan clubs posted a picture from the outing on Instagram. Here’s the photograph:
Virat Kohli retired from T20Is after India’s T20 World Cup 2024 triumph. He had a rather quiet tournament, but made amends with a clutch knock in the final against South Africa.
Kohli’s 76 off 59 helped India finish on 176/7 in 20 overs despite a batting collapse. The side clinched a seven-run win in the last-over thriller to end an 11-year ICC trophy drought.
Meanwhile, Suryakumar Yadav will lead India in the T20 World Cup 2026. India are the co-host of the competition with Sri Lanka. The side open their campaign on Saturday, February 7, against the United States of America at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
Virat Kohli will return to cricketing action with IPL 2026
Virat Kohli’s next assignment will be the 2026 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The ace batter will continue plying his trade for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), a team he has been a part of since the inaugural season of 2008.
RCB will be the defending champions of IPL 2026. The Bengaluru-based side beat Punjab Kings (PBKS) by six runs in the final last year. Kohli played a pivotal role in the team’s maiden IPL title win, amassing 657 runs across 15 innings.
Kohli has been in stupendous form lately. He was India’s highest run-scorer in their 1-2 ODI series defeat to New Zealand. The veteran star registered scores of 93, 23, and 124, finishing with 240 runs from three outings.
