FC Barcelona to Sport Ed Sheeran Album Logo on El Clásico Kits – SportsLogos.Net News

Ed Sheeran will be the latest music superstar to have their logo on the front of FC Barcelona’s shirts for an El Clásico matchup, the club has confirmed.

A photo of Sheeran wearing a T-shirt with the logo for his latest album, Play, next to the Spanish La Liga giants’ crest surfaced on social media in late September, sparking speculation that he would join the likes of Drake, Rosalía, the Rolling Stones, Karol G and Coldplay to have their logo on the front of Barça’ shirts for a match against rivals Real Madrid.

Last week, the club confirmed the rumours, making him the first solo male pop singer to have his logo on a Barcelona shirt. “Seeing my new album, Play, on the Barça shirt is one of those moments I can hardly believe,” Sheeran said on the club’s website. “I’ve loved football my whole life, so bringing my music to such an iconic stage and sharing it with fans everywhere means a lot to me.”

Barcelona’s women’s team also wore the Play logo on their shirts for their match against Granada CF on Sunday, October 19.

Displaying Play on the front of the shirt highlights the power of music to cross borders and bring people together. Barça is famed for its youthful spirit and expressive playing style, shaped by the talents nurtured at La Masia. Ed Sheeran’s love of both football and the city of Barcelona makes this collaboration even more genuine, built on the belief that creativity, music and football can move people, both on and off the pitch.

Putting music logos on Barcelona shirts is part of the club’s sponsorship agreement with streaming service Spotify. Late last week, Barcelona announced that sponsorship agreement has been extended to 2030, and Spotify had secured the naming rights to the Camp Nou stadium until 2034.

As with other El Clásico kits with music logos, limited edition versions are available for fans to purchase. First, 1,899 match-quality jerseys are available for €400 each. Then, a total of 22 autographed jerseys — each with the signature of one of the starting 11 players from both the men’s and women’s matches in which the shirts were worn — are selling for €3,000 each. And, for the first time, 11 shirts signed by the artist are available, also for €3,000 each. Barça is also selling two T-shirts, a sweatshirt and a scarf “inspired by the Play album’s visual universe.”

FC Barcelona travel to the Santiago Bernabéu to face Real Madrid for the first time in the 2025-26 La Liga season on Sunday, October 26.
