Final Fantasy 7 Revelation was revealed during Summer Game Fest 2026, confirming more than just the name of the finale of this great trilogy. We learned more about what we can expect in the vast open world, the party, changes to the combat system, and thankfully, a release window. FF7 Part 3 will be available on all platforms at launch, so fans won’t be locked out, which is a huge relief for many, I imagine.
If you’re looking forward to knowing more about Final Fantasy 7 Revelation, here’s everything we learned from the Summer Game Fest presentation, from party members, release window, pivotal moments, and much more.

Final Fantasy 7 Revelation confirms new title and release window for all platforms
After Final Fantasy 7 Remake and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth comes Final Fantasy 7 Revelation, the final stop in this epic remake trilogy. But when can we get our hands on FF7 Revelation on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2? FF7 Revelation will launch in Spring 2027, so while there’s still a long time to wait, at least we know it’s officially on the way.
One of the most intense discussions about this game was honestly the title, with my personal prediction being Final Fantasy 7 Reunion, but I suppose that was already taken by another recent remake in the Square Enix catalogue. Now that we know the name and window, what else can we expect?
What can you expect in Final Fantasy 7 Revelation?

The final moments of this game promise to be truly ground-shaking, confirming many important moments from the original game are very much intact. The WEAPONS are still rampaging around, including one of the most horrifying Superbosses, Ruby WEAPON.
But that’s far from it. We also saw that Vincent Valentine and Cid Highwind will be playable party members, and also have powerful synergies with one another. Vincent can transform into the Galian Beast to deal massive damage in the heat of battle. The battle system looked to be improved further, with plenty of new attacks, summons, and Synergies.
How will you get to those battles, though? Why, via the Highwind of course! Cid’s colossal airship can take you anywhere in the vast open world, and you don’t even have to set it down! Instead, the party can jump right off the side of the airship, parachute down into the world, and get right down to business!
Another great feature that we saw unveiled was the FIT system. This new feature for Final Fantasy 7 Revelation looks to let characters equip specific Final Fantasy jobs, to enhance their abilities. One of the examples was Tifa Lockhart using the Black Mage job to power up her offensive magic. There’s plenty we don’t know about this system yet, but it’s an exciting prospect. We also received brief teasers of some of the locations we’ll visit, such as Mideel and Wutai!
If that weren’t enough, fans also received a sneak peek at one of the more awe-inspiring cutscenes from the original game, upgraded for the remake. That was the battle between one of the WEAPONS and Junon’s Sister Ray mako canon. You’ll want to watch the trailers to see that for yourself. All we can hope is that it will also include the Tifa vs. Scarlet battle on top of the Sister Ray. There’s still so much to learn about Final Fantasy 7 Revelation, and as soon as we have it, you’ll have it as well!
