FIREWORKS! Trump Takes Trudeau to Task, Threatens More Tariffs in Response to Canadian PM’s ‘Reciprocal’ Tariffs and Disrespectful Remarks During Presser (VIDEO) | The Gateway Pundit

President Trump took Justin Trudeau to task after the Canadian Prime Minister attacked the President’s sweeping tariffs on imports from Canada.

Trump’s 25% tariffs on Canadian and Mexican imports went into effect at midnight.

Trudeau responded by imposing a 25% levy on billions of dollars of US imports and more tariffs will be imposed by the end of March.

On Tuesday, Trudeau delivered remarks at a presser on Parliament Hill in Ottawa and ripped President Trump for imposing tariffs.

“I want to speak first, directly to the American people. We don’t want this. We want to work with you as a friend and ally and we don’t want to see you hurt, either. But your government has chosen to do this to you. As of this morning markets are down and inflation is set to rise dramatically all across your country. Your government has chosen to put American jobs at risk at the thousands of workplaces that succeed because of materials from Canada or because of consumers in Canada, or both,” Trudeau said, flanked by Foreign Minister Melanie Joy and Minister of Finance and Intergovernmental Affairs Dominic Leblanc.

Trudeau accused Trump of harming American national security.

Trudeau disrespected President Trump, called him by his first name, and said that imposing tariffs was a “dumb thing to do.”

“Now, it’s not in my habit to agree with the Wall Street Journal, but Donald, they point out that even though you’re a very smart guy, this is a very dumb thing to do,” Trudeau said.

President Trump swiftly responded by threatening to impose even more tariffs on Canada.

“Please explain to Governor Trudeau, of Canada, that when he puts on a Retaliatory Tariff on the U.S., our Reciprocal Tariff will immediately increase by a like amount!” Trump said on Truth Social.
