Fans reacted as Cristiano Ronaldo went scoreless in Al-Nassr’s 5-1 AFC Cup group-stage home win over Al-Zawraa on Wednesday (December 23). Former Bayern Munich man Kingsley Coman starred with a brace.
Ronaldo, who started the game at Al-Awwal Park, endured a goalless outing even as his side ran riot over Al-Zawraa. Coman and Wesley struck inside 19 minutes before Abdulelah Al-Amri and Joao Felix strikes before half-time ended the game as a contest.
Thanks for the submission!
Ibrahim Gbdamosi reduced arrears for the hapless visitors five minutes after the break, but Coman scored his second of the game six minutes later to restore Jorge Jesus’ side’s four-goal lead.
Despite the team’s comprehensive win, fans weren’t happy with Ronaldo not getting on the scoresheet, with one tweeting:
“Five goals and Ronaldo can’t score one. Bro can only score penalties.”
There were similar comments from other fans:
“Is CR sleeping”
“Ronaldo didn’t play for 2 months and still ghost today.”
“Pendu ghosting against carpenters.”
“Al Nassr score 5 goals Ronaldo no score one sef. always knew he was a fraùd.”
With a sixth win in as many games, Ronaldo and Co. finished nine points ahead of second-placed Al-Zawraa, scoring 22 times and conceding just twice.
How has Cristiano Ronaldo fared for Al-Nassr in the AFC Cup this season?

Cristiano Ronaldo sat out Al-Nassr’s opening five AFC Cup games, missing the 5-0 home win over Istiqlol, 2-0 win at Al-Zawraa, 2-1 victory at FC Goa and 4-0 win at home, and a 4-0 hammering of Istiqlol away.
In his only outing in this season’s competition on Wednesday, Ronaldo – as mentioned above – didn’t find the back of the net but provided an assist as his side advanced to the knockouts as comfortable group winners.
Overall, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner has struck 11 times in 14 games across competitions this season and has also provided four assists. Ten of those strikes have come in nine outings in the Saudi Pro League, where Jorge Jesus’ side top the standings.
Ronaldo’s only other goal this campaign has come in the Saudi Super Cup, where the Knights of Najd fell on penalties to Al-Ahli in the final, extending the Portuguese’s competitive title drought in Saudi Arabia since arriving in December 2022.
