Former WWE Champion Played a Key Role in Zilla Fatu’s Debut

Zilla Fatu shocked the WWE Universe when he made his debut on NXT television last week. Fatu interrupted the main event of the night and took out both Grayson Waller and Cruz Montana. The night came to an end with him standing tall in the middle of the ring while the NXT Champion Tony D’Angelo was watching him from the commentary desk. Recently, a former WWE World Champion revealed that he was the producer for the entire segment. It was none other than AJ Styles.

While speaking on his podcast, The AJ Styles Show, the Phenomenal One revealed that he produced the match. The two stars in the match were Grayson Waller and Cruz Montana, and Styles had no problem, as he was confident that both professionals would get the job done with ease.

“I’ll give you one guess which match I got to produce at NXT. Cruz Montana and Grayson Waller. I was lucky enough to be able to produce their match. Listen, there’s not a lot you have to do with this match, because you’ve got two pros who’ve been on television. They know what they’re doing. Styles added that producing this match was easy for him, and he liked how the two put on a very physical match. He then reflected on how veterans produced his matches, and thus he followed the same pattern.

“Again, I’m there to help produce. It’s not like I’m putting together this match for them. They can do this, too. But to give ideas and stuff like that, because I know them both, it’s a little bit easier. Like when I have a producer like Abyss or Petey Williams who know my stuff, they know what I do and they can suggest these things. It’s a little bit easier to help produce a match. AJ Styles praises Zilla Fatu

During the same episode, AJ Styles opened up about Zilla Fatu. He mentioned that Fatu has an intimidating presence, and he looks like a top star. He was also glad that the NXT crowd went berserk for Umaga’s son.

“Then, lo and behold, we get Zilla Fatu come out from the people and take it to both Grayson Waller and Cruz Montana, and it was freaking awesome. He looks like a star. Just his presence, it’s a very intimidating presence. Zilla Fatu looks so intimidating. If you don’t know how scary he is, he did those splashes without knee pads. It was really cool. This week on NXT, Fatu officially signed his NXT contract, and he was added to the NXT Title match scheduled to take place at NXT Heatwave. It will be a Fatal-4-Way between D’Angelo, Waller, Montana, and Fatu.
