Welcome along to the latest rendition of Sportskeeda Wrestling’s AEW News Roundup. Today, we have a lot of coverage in the world of professional wrestling and AEW. A former WWE star made their official in-ring debut this week on Dynamite, which was a major event that happened this week. Moreover, Jon Moxley is set to compete in a blockbuster showdown at Dynasty.

Recently, there has been a lot of speculation on Chris Jericho in pro-wrestling. Amid all the buzz around him, he is set to make a massive appearance ahead of WrestleMania 42. Also, a top AEW star went on to mock Toni Storm this week on Dynamite during her match. All that and more is in store for this week’s News Roundup. So without further ado, let’s get on it:

#4. Former WWE star Zayda Steel made her Dynamite debut

Zayda Steel competed on this week’s edition of Dynamite. The 22-year-old star was recruited by WWE in 2024 as a part of the company’s ID initiative after a successful run in the independent wrestling scene. Steel performed very well on the EVOLVE show as one of the fastest-rising stars of the program. However, last year she announced her departure from WWE.

Steel has been making appearances in AEW since January this year. But this week on Dynamite, Zayda finally made her in-ring debut. She teamed up with Top Flight to take on Death Riders’ Marina Shafir, Daniel Garcia, and Jon Moxley. The former WWE star had an incredible showing during the match, which indicates that Tony Khan might have some decent plans for her down the line.

#3. Jon Moxley will face Will Ospreay at Dynasty

Jon Moxley has been embroiled in a feud with Will Ospreay for the past few weeks. The Ariel Assassin made his return to All Elite Wrestling at Revolution and quickly went after the Mox and his Continental Championship. The two stars were even involved in a heated brawl last week on Dynamite. But this week, All Elite Wrestling made Ospreay vs. Moxley official for Dynasty.

Will Ospreay laid down a massive challenge to The Purveyor of Violence for a showdown at Dynasty for the Continental Title on Dynamite. Later on the show, Jon Moxley delivered a bold promo where he accepted the former NJPW star’s challenge. Tony Khan has done an incredible job in building the hype for this match. Therefore, fans are heavily excited to see who will walk out of Dynasty as the Continental Champion next month.

#2. Chris Jericho set to make a major appearance

Chris Jericho has been absent from the world of pro-wrestling for almost a year. His contract in AEW is currently frozen, and many people believe that he could be in line to join WWE in the coming months. Fans speculate that Jericho would be returning to the Stamford-based promotion at WrestleMania. But right before The Show of Shows, Y2J is set to make a major appearance outside of wrestling.

Taking to Instagram, Jericho announced that he will be joining this year’s WonderCon panel this Friday. It will be a major showing for the former AEW World Champion amid his absence from pro-wrestling. Fans expect him to drop some hints at what is in store for him from here on in his wrestling career.

#1. Thekla mocked Toni Storm on AEW Dynamite

Toni Storm has become the talk of the town since last week’s Dynamite. The former AEW Women’s World Champion was attacked backstage, which wrote her off from television. Later, it was reported that The Timeless One will be taking a break from the in-ring action for the rest of 2026. Fans expect to hear something about Storm on Dynamite this week. However, there was no information on that but a mockery by the current champion.

AEW Women’s World Champion Thekla faced Mina Shirakawa on Dynamite this week. Shirakawa is Toni Storm’s best friend in All Elite Wrestling, and currently, the Japanese star is on a mission to unveil her friend’s attacker. To frustrated Mina, Thekla went on to mock Storm by doing her iconic ring rolling around on the mat gesture. That momentum drew a loud reaction from the fans on the show.
