The Fort Wayne TinCaps, High-A affiliate of the San Diego Padres in the Midwest League, unveiled new home jerseys that the team will wear this season. The home whites feature a dark green block wordmark outlined in bright green paired with red front numbers.

The white jersey, which will be worn with either a green cap or a red cap, features bright green piping along with the team’s red apple logo on the right sleeve.
The traditional-feeling new uniforms will replace the TinCaps’ previous look, which featured a metalic typeface. The old metal lettering is not going away entirely, though—it appear on alternate red jerseys and throughout the year on promotional and theme night jerseys.

The TinCaps brand, designed by Sky Design in Atlanta, is based on noted American conservationist John Chapman—AKA Johnny Appleseed—who planted apple trees throughout the Midwest in the late 19th century. There’s a Johnny Appleseed Park and Johnny Appleseed festival in Fort Wayne, and Chapman is buried there.
The TinCaps will debut their new look Friday, April 4, against the Lansing Lugnuts.
