Fortnite x Payday collaboration may occur within the close to future

A Fortnite x Payday collaboration could be around the corner, and this is not based on hearsay, but rather a post put out by @PAYDAYGame on social media platform X. Of course, this is not the first time that the account has posted referencing Fortnite, but this is the first time they have been direct about it.

Given that more collaborations have been sanctioned in recent times, Epic Games could be working on something. Seasons are often themed, and we’ve had two heist-themed Seasons thus far, which are perfectly aligned with the brand. However, things have changed, and not for the better. That said, here’s more on the topic at hand.

Fortnite x Payday collaboration would be interesting, but not everyone is on board at the moment

With everything that has happened recently, which includes the V-Bucks price increase and layoffs, not everyone is thrilled at the idea of a Fortnite x Payday collaboration. Replies under the post are a mix-and-match of feelings. Of course, some do want cosmetics from Payday to be added to Fortnite, but it’s not as hyped as it was back in the day. This is what @_rattling had to say:

“We wanted that in 2023 when the heist season dropped within the same week as Payday 3. Now, after the V-Bucks changes, brainrot UGC, and the company firing many vital employees, it’s a bit late.”

Missing the hype train doesn’t mean that a Fortnite x Payday collaboration would be completely out of the picture. But as mentioned by the user, the community is rather disappointed with how things have been progressing, and a crossover could fail for no fault of its own.

Coming to the cosmetics that players would like to see as part of the Fortnite x Payday collaboration, there is a list that has been shared by users. Here’s what they’d like to see in-game:

  • Dallas, Hoxton, Wolf, and Chains (Outfits).
  • Drill, Medic Bag, Money Bag, Ammo Bag, and Mini Dallas (Backblings).

Of course, there are many more things that could be added, but these seem to be the most popular. Knowing Epic Games, they will pick content based on popular demand. Having said that, if something does materialize, it will be a while before we see any leaks; perhaps a year or so.
