The 2026 French Open championships witnessed Tokito Oda win his fourth consecutive wheelchair singles title. The Japanese tennis player Oda saw off the three-time Clay-court Grand Slam champion and second-seeded Alfie Hewett in straight sets 6–3, 6–3.
With the victory, Oda now has five consecutive Grand Slam singles titles and nine overall. This marked his second Grand Slam win of the year. He also equalled his fellow Japanese teammate Shingo Kunieda’s record of four consecutive titles at the event. The Dutch wheelchair tennis player Niels Vinks clinched his third Roland-Garros quad singles title after beating Ahmet Kaplan, who became the first Turkish wheelchair tennis player to reach a Grand Slam singles final.
Thanks for the submission!
Vinks overpowered the Turkish player 6-3, 6-4 on Saturday to bag his fourth straight Grand Slam title, having previously won the 2025 French Open, 2025 Wimbledon Championships, 2025 US Open, and 2026 Australian Open. He also took home the doubles title alongside Guy Sasson. The pair defeated Sam Schroder and Jin Woodman, 6–4, 6–3.
Alfie Hewett and Gordon Reid cemented their legacy by winning their seventh successive French Open wheelchair doubles title. They achieved this unprecedented feat by outplaying Spain’s Martin de la Puente and France’s Stephane Houdet with a 6-2 6-3 victory.
