Prediction markets have flipped the Ohio governor’s race on its head.

As of Monday, September 21, 2026, Democrat Amy Acton is favored to win the open Ohio governor’s mansion on Kalshi at 58 cents on the dollar, an implied 58% chance.

Republican Vivek Ramaswamy, the Trump-endorsed nominee, is trading around 42%.

On Polymarket, the picture is even uglier for the GOP: Acton in the 58–61% range, Ramaswamy down near 40%.

This is Ohio. Donald Trump carried the state by 11.2 points in 2024. Republicans have owned the governor’s office for years. Mike DeWine is term-limited. The seat should not be a 58–42 Democrat favorite with six weeks to go.

Acton is not some moderate suburban mom the networks will sell you. She is the former Ohio Department of Health director who helped DeWine shut the state down.

The Gateway Pundit has documented the record. When Acton became the first Democrat to file for governor, we reminded readers she was the official who waved the debunked Imperial College model in Ohioans’ faces, pushed statewide lockdowns, and treated churches and small businesses as the problem while the usual left-wing sacred cows stayed open.

She will not debate. Ramaswamy accepted CNN and Cincinnati’s WLWT. Acton’s campaign called him a “scam artist” and refused to share a stage.

Then she went to a rally and tried to lead a sing-song chant that a billionaire “cannot buy Ohiooooo.” It landed like a brick.

When a man shoved through her tent at the Canfield Fair, her team immediately sold it as an “armed individual lunged at Dr. Acton.”

The charging documents and the video told a different story, no weapon drawn, no lunge at the candidate, two misdemeanor assault counts for knocking people down.

And the 2019 Bexley police file is still sitting there: a domestic call, shattered glass, Acton admitting she had been drinking and taken an “unknown amount of prescription drugs.”

That is the woman the betting markets now price as a favorite in a red state.
