Giancarlo Stanton has an admirer, and it hasn’t been a secret for quite some time. Comedian and actress Tiffany Haddish tried her luck with the New York Yankees slugger yet again, six years after proclaiming her crush.
In an interview on TODAY this past week with host Jenna Bush Hager, Haddish stated that she was looking for a partner. She pointed out her affection for the Yankees’ Designated Hitter, Giancarlo Stanton, while joking about how he has ignored her advances.
“I’m also trying to get at Giancarlo Stanton, number 27 from the New York Yankees,” Haddish joked, “I noticed his phone number’s changed. He hasn’t been answering my calls.”

Haddish openly stated her liking for Stanton during an appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert in 2019. The comedian joked about “seeing” him everywhere, even in her dreams.
“I’ve been seeing [Giancarlo Stanton] at baseball games, I’ve been seeing him on Instagram, I’ve been seeing him on Twitter, and I’ve been seeing him in my dreams a lot,” Haddish said.
However, after a brief meeting with Stanton, later in the very same year, near her birthday, Haddish had put him in the “friend zone”, stating he wasn’t her type.
“It was so great to finally meet Giancarlo Stanton in person. Thanks Dave Osokow for the great birthday gift, too bad he isn’t my type. But I am sure he will be a great friend, maybe we can play catch,” Haddish said.
Giancarlo Stanton’s relationship status has been a big question since he got to The Big Apple. While he hasn’t confirmed that he’s dating anyone, in the past he has been linked to Asiana Jayd “AJ” Hung-Barnes, Priscilla Quintana, Chase Carter, and Mariana Santana.
Giancarlo Stanton one of the primary reasons behind Yankees low odds to bag Japanese slugger
According to Sara Monlick of the Pinstripes Nation, in an article on Saturday, the Yankees’ pursuit of Nippon Professional Baseball’s (NPB) Tokyo Yakult Swallows’ Munetaka Murakami might face some “internal logjam” because of Giancarlo Stanton playing DH.
As Murakami’s preferred position of first baseman is covered by Ben Rice in the lineup, using him as a DH is a possibility. But that would mean sending Stanton into the outfield to keep him in the lineup, which would make him more prone to injury.
Murakami was posted on November 7, and MLB teams will have 45 days to register him as one of their players. He has hit 246 home runs in his NPB career.
