Arsenal fans on X have waxed lyrical about summer signing Christos Tzolis after he excelled during their 3-0 win over rivals Manchester City. The Gunners emerged triumphant in the FA Community Shield final at the Principality Stadium on Sunday, August 16.
The Gunners sent out an early statement to the Premier League with a resounding win over Enzo Maresca’s Manchester City. Riccardo Calafiori opened the scoring within 23 seconds with a clinical finish before Kai Havertz headed home in the 28th minute. Martin Odegaard then found the back of the net in the 48th minute, ensuring his side secured a dominant 3-0 win.

Arsenal signed Christos Tzolis from Club Brugge last month for a reported transfer fee of £34 million. The 24-year-old left-winger flourished during his 90 minutes against the Cityzens, bagging two assists and creating the most chances during the game (three).
One Arsenal fan was left extremely impressed, claiming Tzolis is an upgrade over Leandro Trossard:

Arsenal skipper Martin Odegaard believes that his side showed their level during their dominant 3-0 win over Manchester City in the FA Community Shield final. Odegaard also admitted that they aim to win more trophies this season, months after they won the Premier League title and reached the Champions League final.
Following the game, the Norway international told TNT Sports (h/t afcstuff):
“It’s what we wanted, we wanted to start here with the first trophy & we did. Apart from the win, we played some brilliant football. Let’s continue like this!”
He added:
“I think we showed our level today & that we’re ready. I think we showed that we’re serious, we want to do it again – there’s more trophies to go for & that’s the aim.”
Despite only having 41 percent possession against City, Arsenal looked more threatening going forward, landing nine shots in total, with five being on target (xG of 2.19). Man City also failed to be clinical, as they only recorded an xG of 0.77, despite mustering 12 shots in total, with five on target.
The Gunners will next face Coventry in the Premier League on August 21.
