The New York Knicks’ 13-game winning streak came to an end on Monday after the San Antonio Spurs secured a 115-111 win in Game 3 at Madison Square Garden. The loss came with Donald Trump in attendance, as analyst Jason Whitlock reacted to the team losing in his presence.
With the Knicks avoiding defeat for 46 days before tonight’s loss, Whitlock offered a simple yet bold suggestion to get New York back to winning ways: uninvite Trump for Game 4.
Thanks for the submission!
“Trump is gonna have to skip Game 4,” Whitlock wrote via X (formerly Twitter).

The Knicks suffered their first loss since April 23 on Monday, with their last defeat coming in Game 3 of their first-round series against the Atlanta Hawks. Since then, New York had not lost a game, winning three consecutive games against the Hawks before sweeping the Philadelphia 76ers and the Cleveland Cavaliers.
They continued this fine run in the NBA Finals, defeating the Spurs in Games 1 and 2. However, that luck ran out tonight as the Spurs picked up a four-point victory at MSG with Victor Wembanyama and Stephon Castle nullifying Jalen Brunson’s 32-point outing.
The Spurs duo combined for 55 points during the win, with Wemby scoring 32 points, while Castle recorded 23 points. Though Trump would have liked to see his team secure the win, the president was still treated to a highly competitive game.
While it remains to be seen whether he will return to MSG for Game 4 on Wednesday, Whitlock made his views clear on whether he would like the president to make an appearance on Wednesday.
Donald Trump reacts to ESPN analyst blaming him for the Knicks’ Game 3 loss
Ahead of Donald Trump’s appearance at Madison Square Garden on Monday, ESPN analyst Stephen A. Smith claimed he would blame the President if the Knicks lost the game.
“If they lose tonight, I’m looking right at him,” Smith said on First Take. “I’m blaming the president of the United States of America. If the New York Knicks lose this tonight.”
After the loss, Trump was questioned about Smith’s earlier comment and clapped back at the analyst with a sharp response.
“I think he’s a nice guy, but you need a certain aptitude to run for president. You need a high IQ. I’m not sure that Steven has that. I don’t think he does, actually,” Trump said.
With the President receiving a chorus of boos in the arena and being viewed as the scapegoat for the Knicks’ loss, it remains to be seen if he will return for Game 4 on Wednesday.
