Rockstar Games recently released mansions with GTA Online A Safehouse in the Hills DLC. These luxurious residential properties are one of the most customizable properties as well. Players will not only be able to change the wallpapers, wall paint, and furniture, but also each and every framed painting and 3D decorations.
Apart from that, a few unique decorations will automatically get applied and removed from mansions every year as well. These special decorations are related to festivals and the player’s character. Here are more details about them.
Different yearly festival decorations will appear in GTA Online mansions
As soon as GTA Online A Safehouse in the Hills was released, dataminers started picking apart the new game files to find out more hidden features of mansions. A popular dataminer named Lucas7yoshi posted on X about four special decorations that will automatically appear and disappear in mansions.
These four decorations were for various festivals and for the player’s character’s birthday in GTA Online. Here are all four special events:
- Halloween
- Christmas
- Chinese New Year
- Player character’s in-game birthday
In the same post, the dataminer also posted low rendered pictures of every festival and birthday decoration in the mansion.
The birthday celebration decoration was quickly confirmed by many players, whose characters birthdays came right after the DLC’s release. They posted pictures of “Happy Birthday” hangings and other decorations around their mansions.
Most recently, Rockstar Games also confirmed that mansions will receive special Christmas decoration in their latest GTA Online Christmas update newswire.

During Halloween, jack o’ lanterns will be placed around the mansions, with a few spooky decorations in the main entrance room.
During Christmas, A large Christmas tree will be placed in the main entrance room, along with colorful fairy lights in the entrance and living rooms. Several gift boxes will also be placed on shelves and tabletops.
During Chinese New Year, several red and golden-colored decorations will be placed around the mansion, especially the traditional Chinese lanterns hanging in the living room.
Lastly, during a player character’s birthday, the mansion’s kitchen area will be decorated with a happy birthday hanging sign and colorful triangular paper hangings.
