Montreal Canadiens prospect Ivan Demidov and his girlfriend Ekaterina Yakovleva (Katya) attended SKA St. Petersburg’s Christmas party on Sunday. Demidov, a first-round pick in the 2024 NHL Draft, is currently playing for SKA St. Petersburg.
Ekaterina shared glimpses from the event this weekend with a carousel of pictures on her Instagram account. In the caption, she wrote:
“New year vibes🎄🎰🎁”
One photo showed Ivan and Katya posing together in front of a Christmas tree, beautifully decorated with lights and red ribbons. Ivan wore a tailored blue suit with a light blue shirt and bow tie, while Katya stunned in an elegant black dress.
In another photo, Katya showed off her fitted black top with silver-laced details, paired with sleek black pants and a small clutch. She also posted a group shot featuring other partners of SKA players, all dressed in stylish black outfits.
Another click captured Ivan and Katya dancing together. Ivan had taken off his blazer and smiled at the camera, holding hands with Katya. The last slide featured Katya standing alongside a friend.
Ivan Demidov received a sweet birthday wish from girlfriend Katya
Ivan Demidov celebrated his 18th birthday on Dec. 10. The young hockey star received heartfelt messages from his girlfriend and his older brother Semyon Demidov on the occasion.
Katya posted an intimate photo of the couple on her Instagram stories with a sweet birthday wish. The image showed them sitting close together by a window. Ekaterina captioned the photo:
“С днём рождения @i.demidov ❤️ love you,” which translates to “Happy Birthday @i.demidov ❤️ love you”
Ivan’s brother Semyon also posted a nostalgic childhood photo of the two brothers on Instagram. The image showed them crouching outdoors as kids, with Semyon writing in Russian:
“С днём рождения, Братишка 🎉❤️,” which translates to “Happy Birthday, Little Brother 🎉❤️.”
Selected fifth overall by the Canadiens in the 2024 NHL Draft, Demidov has strong scoring and playmaking abilities. He debuted with SKA St. Petersburg in 2022 at just 16 years old and has already earned honors like KHL Rookie of the Month and a spot on the KHL All-Rookie Team this season.
The Canadiens have plans to bring Demidov to North America after his current season with SKA. While he is under contract for the 2024-25 season, Demidov has expressed his intention to join the team once his KHL deal ends. Canadiens officials, including GM Kent Hughes, are expected to visit him in the coming months to monitor his progress.
