A popular ex-WWE Superstar has just revealed that they had a recent health scare during one of their matches. They explained the situation after a clip of the bout went viral, revealing that they went through an asthma attack mid-match.

Last night at ROH Death Before Dishonor, Athena put her women’s world title on the line against Hazuki of Stardom. She has shared the ring in the past with the Japanese star, but it was their first time going one-on-one. This was a marathon between the two women as their match went on for 30 minutes. But in the end, the Fallen Goddess scored another statement victory to remain the champion.

A fan took to social media to post about a moment in the match where the Forever Champion lay on the floor at ringside, trying to get her bearings. The fan jokingly nudged her to get up, but Billie Starkz told her off and demanded that they give Athena some space.

The former WWE Superstar responded to the post and revealed that she was going through an asthma attack at that moment. She thanked her stablemates and the ROH medical staff for quickly coming to her aid.

“Yeah…. so ….had an asthma attack mid match…. glad my minions had my back!!! A major thank you to @aew @ringofhonor staff for the quick response… keeping the #ForeverROHChamp in peak condition,” she wrote.

Athena recently broke Roman Reigns’ WWE record

Athena has cemented her name as the greatest ROH Women’s wrestler of all time, as she has been the champion for a total of 1351 days as of today. She has had the longest reign among any champion in company history.

Not only that, but last month, she beat Roman Reigns’ record-setting reign of 1316 days as the WWE Undisputed Universal Champion. The Fallen Goddess is now the longest-reigning champion of the modern era.

Several women have come close to dethroning her, but they have all fallen short. It remains to be seen if there will be anyone who will take her belt away from her this year. But everything can change in a split second.
