Fall foliage tourism in New England is a big deal. The region’s hilly terrain, diverse hardwood forests, and dense population of sugar maple trees, known for their vibrant colors when leaves change in September and October, make it a destination for tourists. The warm colors of the leaves combined with the crisp, sunny New England fall weather are irresistible to millions of weekend road trippers who visit each year.
The Hartford Yard Goats, the Connecticut-based Double-A affiliate of the Colorado Rockies in the Eastern League, will pay tribute to leaf-loving tourists when they play one game this season as the Leaf Peepers.

The brand is centered around a leaf character with a shocked expression, eyes bulging through a pair of binoculars, presumably as it watches its fellow leaves change colors. The primary logo features the script “Leaf Peepers” with green, orange, and red leaves scattered throughout the letters.
The Leaf Peepers take to the field at the beginning of leaf changing season, September 3.
