“Hasn’t won a single playoff game”: Warren Sharp sounds alarm for Justin Herbert as Chargers QB’s maturity will get ‘questioned by NFL coaches’

Six years into his career, Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert still hasn’t won a playoff game, and NFL analyst Warren Sharp posted his thoughts on Hebert on X on Monday. The post included a screenshot from an article that quoted an NFL coordinator, who explained why Herbert hasn’t taken the next step.

“He plays young,” the coordinator said. “He’s incredibly talented and has made progress, but he doesn’t have the maturity level of the other guys as far as how he runs the overall operation and mastery of the position.”

Warren Sharp retweeted that post and wrote:

“Justin Herbert has played 6 yrs in the NFL… hasn’t won a single playoff game… is having his maturity questioned by coaches.

An ESPN survey of executives, coaches and scouts this offseason placed Justin Herbert on nearly 80% of ballots for top quarterbacks.

The Chargers made a coaching change this offseason, bringing in Mike McDaniel as offensive coordinator. McDaniel is known for building offenses that get the ball out fast and create easy completions. The team expects the new system will help Herbert clean up his mistakes.
