NBA fans were torn by JJ Redick’s comments about the LA Lakers without LeBron James next season.

On Thursday, Redick had a press conference with general manager Rob Pelinka. At the post-game presser, the head coach’s remarks about the roster raised eyebrows, with fans reading them as a veiled shot at James.
“For the first time in my three years with the Lakers, this is probably the first time I feel the pieces actually fit together,” Redick said.
His comments received mixed reactions online.

Rob Pelinka Comments on LeBron James’ Time With the Lakers
LeBron James’ time with the Lakers was productive as he led them to several playoff appearances and a title in 2020. Speaking at Thursday’s press conference, Rob Pelinka offered high praise and gratitude for James’ historic run with the franchise.
“I thought it would be appropriate at the front to express gratitude for the LeBron era here,” said Pelinka. “Clearly, new team and new players, and that’s what we’re going to talk about today. But we as an organization are still grateful for the run that we had with him here.”
“It was a great era, and we’re grateful for it. I think it’s important to say that at the onset as we turn into a new chapter.”
LeBron James was an eight-time All-Star with the Lakers and broke several records. He surpassed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s 39-year scoring record, becoming the all-time leading scorer. James also became the player with the most regular-season games played. Finally, he and Bronny James made history as the first father-son duo in the NBA.
