He has been a weak hyperlink”, “Needs to carry bench

Arsenal fans have slammed Jurrien Timber after their 4-1 win over Tottenham in the Premier League. Many believe the right-back has become a weak link in the squad and needs to be benched for a few games.

Mikel Arteta’s side took the lead through Eberechi Eze, who just cannot stop scoring against Tottenham. The former Crystal Palace star was close to joining them in the summer, before moving to the Emirates, and scored a hat-trick in the previous meeting.

However, their lead was short-lived as an error from Declan Rice saw Tottenham equalize a minute later. The two sides were level going into the break, but things changed swiftly after the restart.

Viktor Gyokeres made it 2-1 within 2 minutes of the restart. Tottenham thought they had leveled things up soon, but the goal was ruled out after the referee deemed that Gabriel was fouled by Kolo Muani before he took the shot.

The Gunners took full advantage and made it 3-1 minutes later, with Eze getting on the scoresheet once again. They kept control of the match until the end, when Gyokeres got on the scoresheet once again to make it 4-1.

Despite the 4-1 win, Arsenal fans questioned Timber’s performances in recent matches. Many posted:

Arsenal now have a five points lead over Manchester City, who have a game in hand against Crystal Palace.

Mikel Arteta comments on Arsenal’s win over Tottenham

Mikel Arteta was full of praise for his players after Arsenal defeated Tottenham in the North London Derby. He believes that they have responded well after the draw at Wolverhampton and said:

“That’s football. When you watch the Wolves game, how they took two points, no-one can explain it. I knew we were going to react immediately after that. When it’s your job, you don’t react like this. When it’s your passion, it hurts you in a different way.”

“I cannot be prouder of what I’ve seen out there. After what happened against Wolves, it was tough. You were angry, upset, ashamed. After that you have to bring everyone together and what we’ve done from the beginning to the end of the match I think was outstanding.”

Arsenal face Chelsea next in the Premier League next week, while their big clash this Premier League season will be against Manchester City in April. The two sides also face off in the Carabao Cup final next month at Wembley.
