Heads up: Germany states’ CPI readings due later at the moment

German inflation continues to remain a sticking point for the ECB as they pause through the summer. The latest core annual inflation reading was at 2.8% in May, with headline annual inflation seen at 2.1%. The latter is estimated to climb a little to 2.2% in June, reaffirming that the ECB still has work to do in bringing price pressures down in Europe’s largest economy.

Here’s the agenda for today:

  • 0800 GMT – North Rhine Westphalia
  • 0800 GMT – Hesse
  • 0800 GMT – Bavaria
  • 0800 GMT – Baden Wuerttemberg
  • 0800 GMT – Saxony
  • 1200 GMT – Germany national preliminary figures

Do note that the releases don’t exactly follow the schedule at times and may be released a little earlier or later.
