The Trump Administration is apparently making good on its promise to shut down one of the biggest criminal organizations in America.
The Daily Mail reported Monday that US Agency for International Development (USAID) employees got a nasty surprise when they noticed emails telling them the headquarters was shut down and to stay home according to NBC News.
“At the direction of Agency leadership, the USAID headquarters at the Ronald Reagan building in Washington, D.C. will be closed to Agency personnel on Monday, February 3, 2025,” the email sent to staff overnight said.
The message goes on to say agency personnel who normally work at USAID’s headquarters “will work remotely” except for people who perform essential on-site and building maintenance duties. “Further guidance will be forthcoming,” it adds.
In total, at least 600 staffers were locked out overnight, according to the Daily Mail. As of 2016, there were 10,235 employees on its payroll.
The Mail notes the official government website for USAID and any former links for the site’s web pages now show a browser error message after being previously shut down: “This site can’t be reached.”
This fulfills a promise made by X owner and DOGE chairman Elon Musk early Monday morning when he stated during an audio appearance on X that total elimination of USAID was the only option.
“It became apparent that it’s not an apple with a worm it in,” Musk said. “What we have is just a ball of worms. You’ve got to basically get rid of the whole thing. It’s beyond repair.”
“We’re shutting it down,” he added.

Two top officials were also put on leave after trying to keep Musk’s team to access classified information, and soon both the X social media account with 1 million followers and also the website have disappeared. These two officials, John Vorhees and Deputy Brian McGill, falsely claimed the DOGE employees did not have the security clearance to obtain the classified materials
As TGP readers know, USAID is a foreign aid agency that many see as a front for CIA activities and is being radically dismantled by President Trump and his DOGE led by Elon Musk. In one instance, the agency funneled $5 billion in 2014 to ignite riots in Ukraine according to RFK Jr.
In addition, USAID sent $53 million to the infamous EcoHealth Alliance, which used U.S. taxpayer funds to support ‘gain-of-function’ research on coronaviruses at the Wuhan lab—research that likely led to the creation of COVID-19.
