Horrible Leftist Hack Messes Around and Finds Out: Kash Patel Slaps Turncoat Mike Pence Advisor, Olivia Troye, with Legal Notice for Defamation | The Gateway Pundit

Olivia Troye spoke at the 2024 DNC in Chicago.

In yet another example of the left’s desperate attempts to smear President-elect Donald Trump’s allies, Olivia Troye, a former advisor to turncoat Mike Pence, is facing the heat after making outrageous defamatory statements about Trump’s pick for FBI Director, Kash Patel.

On November 30, 2024, President-elect Trump announced the nomination of Patel to lead the FBI, an institution tarnished by years of political corruption under figures like James Comey and Chris Wray.

Trump’s base praised the nomination, viewing Patel as a figure who could restore integrity and accountability to the Bureau.

But Olivia Troye, who has gained notoriety for her venomous tirades against her former colleagues, appeared on Joy Reid’s MSNBC show to launch a tirade against Patel.

Among her baseless accusations, Troye claimed that Patel “lied about intelligence,” “put Navy SEALs at risk,” and even “misinformed Mike Pence.” These allegations were delivered with the venom and theatrics typical of the MSNBC echo chamber.

Olivia Troye:
I worked with Kash in the White House. I was Vice President Mike Pence’s counterterrorism advisor, so I had to coordinate with Kash a lot. Kash Patel is a delusional liar. Let me just be very clear about that. He would lie about intelligence. He would lie about making things up on operations. I think Mark Esper has talked about that as well, where he put the lives of Navy SEALs at risk in an operation when it came to Nigeria.

These are things that actually were happening in real-time when he was in the role of CT Coordinator in the White House. I know this because, at some point, I realized that I needed to double-check Kash’s work to make sure that I wasn’t misinforming Mike Pence by relying on his word, so I had to go around him.

This is a guy who openly has contempt for people in national security, especially for people at DOJ and the FBI. He made open comments like this. I think there is a little bit of fear here from people where they know that someone like Kash Patel is fully capable of just doing partisan investigations, whatever it takes.

It will be insane if he becomes the director of the FBI. I fear for the law enforcement personnel there who are going to have to navigate this. Quite honestly, when I look at Kash Patel in combination with what Pam Bondi is going to do if she gets in as AG—is that top cover for him? These are all the things that concern me when I see all of these names being proposed for different positions. This is a very real risk and to the detriment of Americans.

In response, Patel’s legal team wasted no time, delivering a hard-hitting letter demanding Troye retract her defamatory statements within five business days. The letter exposed Troye’s allegations as “complete fabrications” and accused her of knowingly spreading lies to malign Patel’s reputation for personal gain.

The letter also placed Troye on notice to preserve all documents, communications, and evidence related to her false claims.

The letter reads:

This law firm represents Kashyap Patel. Litigation will be filed against you if you fail to publicly retract defamatory statements you made about Mr. Patel on MSNBC on December 2, 2024. Be further advised that you should identity and preserve all hard copy and electronically stored documents, information, and data that relate, in any way, to Mr. Patel and to your statements about him on MSNBC.

On December 2, 2024, you appeared as a live guest on MSNBC and made several false and defamatory statements about Mr. Patel. These comments include that Mr. Patel would “lie about intelligence” and would “lie about making things up on operations” to the point where Mr. Patel “put the lives of Navy Seals at risk when it came to Nigeria” and that Mr. Patel was even misinforming Vice President, Mike Pence.

This is a complete fabrication, and you know it is false by virtue of your former position in the White House. At no point did Jir. Patel ever lie about national intelligence, place Navy Seals at risk, or misinform the Vice President. Not only did you have actual knowledge of the falsity of this smear, but you also did so with the malicious intent of degrading his character and of cynical self-promotion.

This is, of course, not the first time you have milked your former title as a means of spreading lies about associates of President Donald J. Trump. You are already embroiled in a lawsuit for your disgusting lies about Ambassador Ric Grenell on Twitter.

Mr. Patel demands that you retract your lies in a public statement on your X account within five business days of receipt of this letter. Unless this step is taken, Mr. Patel will take swift legal action to uphold his rights and reputation.

With this letter, you are also on notice of your ongoing obligations to preserve documents related to Mr. Patel. Accordingly, you must ensure that you, your agents, and all sources of information upon which you relied are preserving and retaining all emails, text messages (including messages sent over social media or messaging platforms such as Facebook, Signal, WhatsApp, Telegram, etc.), audiovisual recordings, voice mails, drafts, notes, communications, documents (including prior versions or iterations of documents), data, and electronically stored information of any kind that relate in any way to these matters.

Without any limitation, this requires you to preserve all research and due diligence you conducted or instructed others to conduct relating to Mr. Patel.

The laws and rules prohibiting destruction of evidence apply to electronically stored information in the same manner as they do to other evidence. Due to its format, electronic information is easily deleted, modified, or corrupted.

Accordingly, you must take every reasonable step to preserve this information until this matter is resolved. This may include, but would not be limited to, an obligation to discontinue all data destruction and backup data recycling policies and procedures on any and all devices within your possession, custody, or control.

This also obligates you and your agents to change the settings on any online messaging application or account to retain all messages.

Please confirm receipt of this letter and confirm your intent to retract the statements within 5 business days of receipt. Please also confirm that you intend to adhere to your obligations to retain documents, data, communications, and information as set forth above and as required by law. This is not a complete recitation of Mr. Patel’s rights and remedies, all of which are expressly reserved.

The letter, shared online by Olivia Troye, was accompanied by her boastful remarks as she doubled down on her attacks against Patel.

“Today, Kash Patel sent a letter to my counsel Mark Zaid – threatening legal action & demanding that I retract my comments on MSNBC about his unfitness to serve as FBI Director. This aligns with his threats against the media & political opponents, revealing how he might conduct himself if confirmed in the role. I stand by my statements—my priority remains the safety & security of the American people. I am not the only one who has expressed concerns about him. So why me? And so it begins,” Troye wrote.
