The Houston Astros are dropping their popular navy blue “Space City” City Connect uniforms and replacing them with their second kick at the proverbial City Connect can, which will be released officially later this afternoon.
Sticking around is an incorporation of their infamous “Tequila Sunrise” gradient, now placed within their mid-90s shooting star, streaking across the chest of the all-white jersey. An abbreviated (by one whole letter) team name of “STROS” is in navy blue digital-style lettering within this yellow-to-orange star. The player’s number is placed to the lower right (ugh) in the same style numbering and colour as the “STROS” wordmark. This style is duplicated on the back for the player’s name and number.
We have two stripes on the sleeves, one navy blue and one in that same yellow-to-orange Tequila Sunrise gradient. On one sleeve is a new logo patch featuring an orange “H” below a white star placed inside a white baseball diamond on a navy blue logo. The logo features white wings and “UNION STATION” arched above with “HOUSTON” below. This is in tribute to the location of their home stadium, now known as Daikin Park, on the site of the city’s former rail hub.
In the lower-left corner on the jock tag is a Houston skyline with the phrase “Be Someone” in white.
The Houston Astros were part of the 2022 class of Nike MLB City Connect uniforms; at the time, their Space City design was by far the most popular in terms of retail sales. They are the first of eight teams to reveal their second City Connect uniforms in 2025; the others are the Arizona Diamondbacks, Boston Red Sox, Chicago White Sox, Colorado Rockies, Miami Marlins, San Francisco Giants, and Washington Nationals. The Los Angeles Dodgers, up until now, were the only club to have two different City Connect uniforms; they unveiled their first in 2021 and their second in 2024.
Following the 2025 season, the Athletics and New York Yankees will be the only two teams to never add a City Connect uniform to their set.
