Houston Texans’ “Rivalries” Uniform To Feature “Certain Colours” In 2026 – SportsLogos.Net News

During an event for season ticket holders this week, Houston Texans owners Cal and Hannah McNair spoke about the new “Rivalries” uniform the team will debut during the 2026 season.

“We’re currently working on those uniforms,” Hannah McNair said during the State of the Texans event at NRG Stadium on Monday. “(It) should be fun, (full of) H-Town pride, so we’re looking forward to that.”

The “Rivalries” series kicks off this fall with members of the AFC East and NFC West wearing community-inspired alternate uniforms during a to-be-determined home game against a divisional opponent.

It will then branch out to the AFC South and NFC North in 2026, AFC West and NFC East in 2027 and the AFC North and NFC South in 2028, with the uniforms remaining in each team’s rotation for three years after their introduction.

That said, the Texans were arguably the first team in the league to debut a city-inspired design, as their “H-Town Blue” alternate uniforms directly appeal to the fans who still claim the Houston Oilers as their own.

Of course, the Oilers’ nickname, logo and colour scheme remain the intellectual property of the Tennessee Titans, who spent 37 seasons in Houston before relocating in 1997 and rebranding in 1999.

But the teams ultimately reached a compromise for the Texans to add light blue to their colour scheme during last year’s redesign, restricting it to an unspecified percentage of their uniforms and their new “H” secondary mark.

Fast forward one year, though, and it appears the Texans are going to push those limits with their “Rivalries” design – and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see them worn against the Titans, just like the Titans wore Oilers throwback uniforms against the Texans in each of the last two seasons.

“They’re not totally finished yet. We’re still working on them,” Hannah McNair said of the “Rivalries” uniforms, to which Cal McNair added, “We know how much you guys like certain colours and so we’re going to work those in.”
