How a lot will Team India obtain as prize cash after historic win in IND vs SA World Cup 2025 ultimate?

India women’s cricket team etched their name in history by sealing the 2025 World Cup title with a 52-run win over South Africa at the D.Y Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai on Sunday, November 2. In addition to the ICC prize money of ₹39.78 crore, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have announced a reward of ₹51 crore for the players, coaches and the support staff.

Both India and South Africa came into the final without a World Cup in their kitty. It eventually turned out to be the hosts’ night as they outclassed South Africa. BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia heaped praise on Harmanpreet Kaur and Co, saying they have heralded a new era, similar to what Kapil Dev and team did in 1983. Announcing a reward of ₹51 crore, he said, while speaking to ANI:

“In 1983, Kapil Dev brought about a new era and encouragement in cricket by making India win the World Cup. The same excitement and encouragement has been introduced by the women today. Harmanpreet Kaur and her team have not just won the trophy today; they have won the hearts of all Indians. Since Jay Shah took charge of the BCCI, he has brought about many transformations in women’s cricket. Pay parity was addressed. Last month, ICC Chairman Jay Shah increased women’s prize money by 300 percent — from $2.88 million to $14 million. These steps have greatly promoted women’s cricket. BCCI has also announced a reward prize of Rs 51 crores for the entire team- players, coaches, and support staff.”

Shafali Varma was announced as the Player of the Match for her 87 off 78 deliveries and bowling figures of 7-0-36-2. Deepti Sharma was declared as Player of the Tournament for picking up 215 runs and 22 wickets.
