How to defeat Dalang in Where Winds Meet

Dalang in Where Winds Meet is the second story boss that you can fight during Chapter 1 of the game. This horse, alongside his Horse Dancer, will prove to be a tough fight, as it is essentially a 2 vs 1 battle. Similar to the Heartseeker boss in Where Winds Meet, Dalang also has two phases. This horse is a campaign-only boss in the game.

Let’s take a look at how you can defeat Dalang in Where Winds Meet.

Tips and tricks to defeat Dalang in Where Winds Meet

Dalang is the white horse that you encounter atop the broken shrine when searching for Han alongside Killerblade. Once you free Ruby and Bearded Guang, you will be tasked with infiltrating the main temple, where you will come across the deranged Horse Dancer.

He will escape and summon his horse companion alongside him, which will lead to the boss fight.

Best weapon setup

Dalang is extremely tanky and hits hard, and can easily kill you if you are not careful. If you select the Panacea Fan as your beginner weapon in Where Winds Meet, use that. This weapon not only allows you to fight from range, but also has skills that can heal you.

Phase 1

  • Dalang will often charge at you. Make sure to dodge this attack and maintain distance from the horse.
  • Do not let the Dancer get to your blind side. He will attack you with Poison Darts.
  • Focus on the horse instead of the Dancer.
  • The horse has primarily three attacks; It will charge at you, or it can stomp the ground and create shockwaves, which can hit you. The third attack is slamming its body against you.
  • Jump when the horse stomps its feet on the ground. It’s easier to avoid the shockwaves by jumping.

Phase 2

  • The Boss will more or less have the same movesets, but this time around, its attack will hit harder.
  • Make sure to use healing items or skills when your HP gets low.
  • Jumping is still the best method of dodging the boss’s ground stomp attacks.
  • Keep in mind that when the boss glows golden, you will need to run to the other side of the arena. If it catches you, it will unleash a powerful move that will take a chunk off your HP bar.

Defeating Dalang will allow you to continue the main story chapter, and it will trigger a cutscene.
