How to finish Trace of Shadows faction quest in Crimson Desert

Trace of Shadows is a faction quest in Crimson Desert under House Serkis. This quest is part of the Secret of the Lost Seal questline. Before going over this quest, let us get to the context. The first quest of this questline requires you to talk to Marquis Serkis. He tells you about the great thief of Hernand who has left a letter and stolen the family seal of House Serkis. So, while investigating, you come across this quest where you track further clues.

However, the clues are well hidden, and it may take time to find them. So this article makes it simpler by explaining how and where to find the clues to complete the Trace of Shadows faction quest in Crimson Desert.

Crimson Desert guide: How to complete Trace of Shadows faction quest (House Serkis)

Trace of Shadows has three objectives:

• Track the traces at Three Saints’ Falls
• Track the traces at Duskwood
• Organize the leads

If you have reached the Trace of Shadows, you have already completed the Trace of Intruder quest. By now, you should have a shovel, which you can use to dig up hidden items.

Track the traces at Three Saints’ Falls

First head to Three Saints’ Falls. It will be marked on your map, and it will basically be on the small island present inside the pond. Head there, and you will find small heaps of dirt. There will be four or five of them. You must equip your shovel and dig. In one of those dirt piles, you will find the letter. Now open your inventory and read the letter, and it will complete the objective.

Track the traces at Duskwood

For the second objective, head to the marked location on your map. Once there, you will find a puzzle. You do not need to solve the puzzle to get the letter. But the puzzle is easy, and you should complete it to receive an Abyss Artifact. Now, to find the letter, you should use your lantern and check under the white stones. The letter will be present under one of them. When you know the location, just pick up the white stone, and you will reveal the letter and a piece from Duskwood.

Read the letter and also examine both sides of the Duskwood piece. This way, you will complete the second objective.

Organize the leads

Now head to Hernand City and head to the second floor of Oakenshield Manor, to the chamber where Marquis Serkis is. Converse with him to complete the Trace of Shadows quest.
