Getting married is one of the major social aspects of Where Winds Meet, where players can come together in matrimony. This is not an NPC romance system, like you might find in Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines 2 or Starfield. Instead, players will make their intentions known that they are looking for a romantic partner, and it will be another player! It’s a pretty unique concept as far as co-op games go. While you can get married to another player in games like FFXIV, this isn’t truly an MMO.
There’s a specific place you need to go in-game to get married in Where Winds Meet, and that’s the Red Maple Forest at the Crimson Cliff at Moonveil Mountain. Here, you can potentially find a partner, get married, and build a relationship where fun cosmetic rewards and other benefits can be unlocked.
How getting married works in Where Winds Meet
If you want to get married in Where Winds Meet, you first need to be in online mode. This is not for NPCs, but only other players. When you’re ready, head to the location on the map below, and speak to the NPC Shi Yimo. You’ll also no doubt see tons of players idling in this area.

Speak to Shi Yimo, and she will give you a few options. If you’re looking for a partnership, select Seeking Fate Chat info, and you’ll be given a couple more options. Initiate Seeking Fate must be done first. You use this to write a letter about wanting to become a couple. Next is to wait just a little bit and select Found Fate.
You’ll see up to three options at a time here, where people responded to your letter. If you accept one of these, you can come back in a team/group, to Form a Partnership by speaking to Shi Yimo again. However, this does requires the two of you to be at the Intimacy Tier: Companions.

You build your relationship by simply doing content in the world together. Fighting enemies, playing music, going fishing, just being together in a group and completing content will build your relationship. When it’s time, you can get married in Where Winds Meet!
It’s worth noting that you can send three Seeking Fate letters a day, and can also have three attempts at Finding Fate a day. Then you have to return when the servers reset and try again, if you didn’t find Mr./Mrs. Right. Gender doesn’t matter, either, as players can enter into same-sex marriages if they want. As a matter of fact, if you join the Floral Revelry Sect, you can enter into multiple marriages at the same time.
Benefits of getting married in Where Winds Meet
Being married to a player in Where Winds Meet gives you a few rather interesting perks, as you build your relationship. However, you will have to play together frequently and build your way through the various tiers of intimacy.
As a result, you’ll unlock a variety of Decorations, Hero Titles, Emotes, and Cosmetics in the Social Shop. There are other useful benefits, but nothing that makes you more powerful. If you’re into the social and cosmetic aspects of Where Winds Meet, or simply play with your significant other, this is a good way to build a bond and work together.
